Information: | The development of the area of Orotina began with the Ox Cart trails in 1843 and then the mines in 1862, the lumber industry and cattle. The land is mostly flat and the soils are extremely fertile. The area is drained by the Grande de Tárcoles, Machuca and Cuarros Rivers.
