To work is important to defeat poverty and to earn sufficiently to be able to adequately subsidise vital necessesities. However, many human beings are obligated to work in inhumane conditions and in exploitation in order to be able to cover their material needs. Human rights prohibit forced labour in any form, traditional or modern. Human rights prohibit slavery and economic exploitation of children. They guarantee access to the job market to all, demand fair work conditions even in private labor relations and they allow the right of workers to join unions.
