To have ones own opinion and to share or promote ones own views and exchange ideas and information make social exchange and political discussion in a plural society possible. The right to freedom of expression and of a free press protects the diffusion of knowledge and of opinions including those which are critical and not politically correct or conventional. Also, each human being has the right to associate with others in political parties, interest groups, and associations. Finally, each citizen has the right to participate in free and fair elections.
